DMX MUSIC LAUNCHES IN VENEZUELA
THROUGH INTERCABLE
LOS ANGELES (May 6, 2002) – DMX MUSIC, a global leader in creating and delivering unique, culturally sensitive programming to homes and businesses, today announced a launch with Intercable in Venezuela to provide 40 channels of DMX MUSIC to their customers. Intercable, a leader in cable television and broadband in Venezuelan cities including Caracas, Barquismeto, Maracaibo and Maracay, has chosen DMX MUSIC as its exclusive provider of digital audio services.
"We are pleased to support the growth of Intercable, especially as Intercable impressively works to secure digital cable distribution for DMX MUSIC as well as other digital services to Venezuela," said Robyn Lipari, Vice President, Broadband Division, The Americas, DMX MUSIC. "We can provide absolutely unrivaled listening experiences to Intercable customers, and other markets as Intercable continues to grow."
Intercable offers service to more than 1,200,000 households in 70 cities in Venezuela. The DMX MUSIC service is delivered via a proprietary digital file server developed by DMX MUSIC. The DMX MUSIC digital file server studio has eliminated the necessity for satellite transmission—delivering DMX MUSIC programming directly to other digital file servers located anywhere in the world. The music channels are updated daily using a high-speed Internet connection from DMX MUSIC’s Digital Media Center. The DMX MUSIC service provides song information, including song title, artist, and album name on-screen.
"DMX MUSIC is a cornerstone product among Intercable’s digital programming and services offering," said Damian Mitelman, Intercable Customer Service Manager. "We expect DMX MUSIC will be an outstanding complement to our digital tier because of its depth of music programming, and this launch is certainly the beginning of a long, profitable partnership."
