BIG MIKE’S SUPER SUBS CHOOSES DMX MUSIC
TO PROVIDE MUSIC SERVICES AT 23 RESTAURANT LOCATIONS
Commercial-free Music Reinforcing Brand While Eliminating Competitor Ads
Los Angeles (May 18, 2002) – DMX MUSIC, the leader in delivering music, message marketing and visual imaging to restaurants, hotels, businesses and homes via satellite, the Internet and digital cable, today announced an agreement with Big Mike’s Super Subs, launching its professionally-programmed, commercial-free music services at 23 Big Mike’s super Sub locations in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
"The music programming provided by DMX MUSIC will be instrumental in helping Big Mike’s Super Subs achieve the level of control we wanted in our music selection to help our customers enjoy their visit. And with a diverse play list, DMX MUSIC will allow us to appeal to varying customer demographics," said Chris Carr, Facilities Manager, Big Mikes Super Subs. "We also benefit from the fact that DMX MUSIC eliminates the chance that a competitor’s advertisement will air in our store locations."
DMX MUSIC, which offers genres ranging from country and smooth jazz, to adult alternative and rock ‘n roll oldies, will deliver a custom 45 channel music line-up to Big Mike’s Super Subs, cultivated from DMX MUSIC’s 103 channels, via direct broadcast satellite (DBS) service. Prior to commissioning DMX MUSIC, Big Mike’s Super Subs employees were playing their own CDs or playing the radio, prohibiting management control and creating the possibility for competitors’ ads to air at Big Mike’s locations.
"We used DMX MUSIC’s proprietary Music Application Program, or MAP, where we examine targeted demographics, energy level and marketing objectives for each Big Mike’s location to determine the appropriate music programs, ensuring the appropriate mix of commercial-free music channels to meet Big Mike’s Super Subs objectives," said Ron Hynning, DMX MUSIC. "Big Mike’s Super Subs was a natural fit for us, because DMX MUSIC is aggressively pursuing more quick-service food establishments in our overall global strategy to deliver the best music, messaging and video imaging in the marketplace."
